An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 Pharmacy Support Workers within our Pharmacy Department based at University Hospital Crosshouse. You will gain experience rotating across Dispensary, Distribution, Aseptic and the Combined Assessment Unit. These posts are offered on a permanent basis.
HoursFull‑time, 36 hours. You will work 08:30‑16:30 on three days each week and 08:30‑16:00 on two days. You will also participate in weekend, departmental and public holiday rotas. The pharmacy service runs from 08:00 to 20:00 in the CAU and the successful candidate will participate in this extended hours rota. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over seven days and/or an extended working day.
UKDriving Licence
A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will DoThis is a rotational post where you will gain experience across Dispensary, Distribution, Aseptic and the Combined Assessment Unit.
Qualifications and Experience- Essential qualifications: an A or B pass at National 5 or equivalent in English, Maths, Chemistry and Biology.
- SVQ in Pharmacy Services at SCQF level 6 or equivalent, or transferable with a reasonable expectation to achieve this qualification within one year of commencement.
- Previous pharmacy experience is an advantage; full hospital pharmacy training will be provided.
- Good communication skills (oral and written).
- Strong customer care skills.
- Moderate arithmetic skills.
To work in the United Kingdom, you must demonstrate the relevant permission to work. It is essential that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible for sponsorship before submitting your application. NHS Ayrshire & Arran may offer visa sponsorship for certain roles, provided the post meets the minimum salary threshold and any other required criteria.
