Imaging Assistant based at University Hospital Crosshouse/University Hospital Ayr. The successful candidate will progress from Band 2 to Band 3 after completion of the Imaging Assistant Competency Framework and Health Care Support Workers Mandatory Induction Standards.

36 hours per week.

• Support Radiologists and Radiographers in the delivery of imaging services.
• Assist with all aspects of patient care, including patient monitoring and intravenous cannulation after training.
• Participate in departmental audit and continuous professional development activities.
• Maintain and develop the highest standards of imaging in a safe, caring and respectful manner.
• Work flexible hours, including out‑of‑hours and weekends, as part of a 24/7 service roster.

• SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good computing skills for administration tasks.
• Experience with in an x‑ray setting is advantageous, and a general knowledge of the department role is desirable.
• Demonstrated flexibility to respond to changing service demands.
• A UK driving licence is essential for travel between NHS Ayrshire & Arran sites.
• Valid right to work in the United Kingdom.

Physically and mentally demanding work involving patient monitoring and IV cannulation. The role requires working in a fast‑paced department and participating in out‑of‑hours and weekend shifts as part of a rotating roster.

Applicants must have a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence and valid right to work in the UK. NHS Ayrshire and Arran has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees have the appropriate permission to work in the UK.
