PositionImaging Assistant based at University Hospital Crosshouse/University Hospital Ayr. The successful candidate will progress from Band 2 to Band 3 after completion of the Imaging Assistant Competency Framework and Health Care Support Workers Mandatory Induction Standards.
Hours36 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Support Radiologists and Radiographers in the delivery of imaging services.
- Assist with all aspects of patient care, including patient monitoring and intravenous cannulation after training.
- Participate in departmental audit and continuous professional development activities.
- Maintain and develop the highest standards of imaging in a safe, caring and respectful manner.
- Work flexible hours, including out‑of‑hours and weekends, as part of a 24/7 service roster.
- SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good computing skills for administration tasks.
- Experience with in an x‑ray setting is advantageous, and a general knowledge of the department role is desirable.
- Demonstrated flexibility to respond to changing service demands.
- A UK driving licence is essential for travel between NHS Ayrshire & Arran sites.
- Valid right to work in the United Kingdom.
Physically and mentally demanding work involving patient monitoring and IV cannulation. The role requires working in a fast‑paced department and participating in out‑of‑hours and weekend shifts as part of a rotating roster.
