Position: Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse Specialist - Internal Only

Position

Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse Specialist (Permanent) based at University Hospital Crosshouse.

Hours

20 hours per week over 3 days. Flexible working hours are available, including 1 in 3 on call weekends.

UK Driving Licence

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What you will do

Join our Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Team as a highly motivated and enthusiastic renal nurse. You will be part of a small team of specialist nurses responsible for:

  • Overall nursing assessment, training, implementation and evaluation of care for patients on PD in Ayrshire and Arran.
  • Ensuring patients and their families receive physical, emotional and psychological support to enable safe dialysis at home.
  • Working autonomously under the direction of the Lead Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse Specialist.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post

Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Substantial years of post‑registration experience, with significant experience in the speciality.
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, and a keen interest in patient training and education.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
