PositionRegistered Mental Health Staff Nurse – East Ayrshire Community Mental Health Team
Hours and ContractHours per week: 28.8 hours. This is a permanent post.
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full‑time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part‑time staff) without loss of earnings.
UK Driving LicenceA UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will DoThe purpose of this role is to deliver community‑based mental health nursing care to individuals in the East Ayrshire area who require assessment and treatment for a range of mental‑health difficulties.
Knowledge, Training and Experience Required- High level of communication skills and ability to work well within a multi‑disciplinary team and as an autonomous practitioner.
- Sound knowledge base and confident ability to make clinical decisions.
- Experience and understanding of assessing and managing risk – essential to the post.
- Current thinking in relation to mental‑health care in an ever‑changing society.
- Venepuncture skills preferred, but not essential – full training will be arranged.
- Registered Mental Nurse qualification and current registration with the NMC.
- Minimum education of degree level or relevant clinical experience.
To work in the United Kingdom, permission to work in the country is required. This is granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service. Check that you have the appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible for sponsorship before applying.
