Position

Clinical Team Leader – Out of Hours District Nursing (permanent position at Lister Centre, University Hospital Crosshouse)

Hours

36 hours per week. From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours without loss of earnings.

What you will do
  • Operational management of the community nursing team, including professional and clinical supervision and deployment of staff within the Out of Hours Service covering all of Ayrshire.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, work independently and as a lone worker across a variety of community settings.
  • Provide evidence of professional development and willingness to undertake appropriate training.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Post‑graduate qualification in District Nursing or equivalent.
  • Post registration experience working with patients who have complex care requirements.
  • Robust staff management experience.
  • Experience working within a community setting.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to people with complex care requirements.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and leadership.
  • Management of a wide range of clinical interventions including tracheostomy and suprapubic catheter.
  • Able to develop, plan, implement and monitor robust care plans.
