PositionWe are seeking an Infection Control Nurse based at Lister Street, University Hospital Crosshouse
. This is a permanent position.
36 hours per week. From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours without loss of earnings.
Driving LicenceA UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do- Be a core member of the IPCT reporting directly to the Infection Control Nurse Team Lead.
- Support infection prevention and control activities and initiatives.
- Perform and report audits, prepare and deliver education and training, including presentations as required.
- Collaborate with staff to promote a safe and caring environment.
- First level registered nurse with relevant current clinical experience.
- Evidence of post-registration education, training and development.
- Commitment to undertake an appropriate Infection Control qualification to diploma, degree or master’s level.
- Practical experience of undertaking audit, including report writing and action planning.
- Previous experience delivering education and training to staff.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the NHS Scotland HAI agenda, national infection control guidelines and policies, and the ability to translate theory into practice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Relevant IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Internet, e‑mail, digital photography and database management for surveillance and audit data.
