Position: Social Worker - Locality Services (CF) - EAY12518

Job Description

We have several permanent full-time (35 hours) available for Qualified Social Workers in East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership to join our dynamic and experienced children and families teams. We have positions across our locality teams, based in Kilmarnock or Cumnock, and include our Focussed Intervention Teams (FIT) as well as our Request for Assistance team (RfA).

If you are a newly qualified social worker, we have a specific NQSW programme that will support you through your first 12 months of qualifying.

We would need you to:

  • Operate as part of our children and families social work service in a way that values our children and families
  • Provide a range of social work services in line with the relevant legislation
  • Work effectively as part of a team by developing relationships with colleagues
  • Use professional judgement and initiative when working with children and families utilising the support and guidance of your team and manager
  • Share and analyse information in accordance with data protection and childcare legislation
  • Adhere to the SSSC code of conduct.

It is essential that you hold a Dip Sw or equivalent social work qualification and are registered with the SSSC.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.

Requirements

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.

- PVG members' records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.

Hours of work - Mon-Thu 9am-5pm, Fri 9am-4pm

Annual Salary - £45,769 - £49,859 - this inclusive of 5% Market Forces Payment.
