Are you an experienced and committed Children and Families Social Worker looking for your next opportunity?
We are currently seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join a Children and Families Social Work Service in East Ayrshire, supporting children, young people and families to achieve positive outcomes and improve their wellbeing.
The RoleAs a Children and Families Social Worker, you will manage a varied caseload and work closely with children, young people, parents, carers and partner agencies to assess needs, manage risk and provide effective social work interventions.
- Undertaking comprehensive assessments of children, young people and families.
- Developing and reviewing child-centred care and support plans.
- Managing a varied caseload in line with professional standards and statutory requirements.
- Assessing and managing risks relating to children and young people.
- Undertaking child protection and safeguarding work where required.
- Working closely with schools, health professionals, police and other partner agencies.
- Supporting families to address difficulties and promote positive change.
- Advocating for the needs, rights and views of children and young people.
- Participating in child protection meetings, reviews and multi-agency planning.
- Contributing to permanence and longer-term planning where appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate and timely case records and reports.
- Ensuring all practice is child-centred, strengths-based and outcome-focused.
We are looking for a qualified Social Worker who has:
- A recognised Social Work qualification.
- Current registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
- Experience working with children, young people and families.
- Strong assessment, care planning and risk management skills.
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- An understanding of relevant Scottish legislation and social work practice.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- The ability to work effectively with children, families and professional networks.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload.
- A compassionate, resilient and child-centred approach.
Previous experience within a statutory Children and Families Social Work setting would be highly desirable.
