About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join their team in Kimberley . You will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects. This role involves detailed analysis of project plans, specifications, and scope of work to determine the necessary labor, material, and equipment costs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction methods and materials, possess excellent mathematical skills, and be adept at using estimating software to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
Your expertise will be critical to securing new business and driving project success in the Northern Cape .
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bids for various construction projects, including tendering processes.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to identify scope and quantify materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and complete estimates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Review final bids before submission to ensure accuracy, completeness, and profitability.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Construction Estimator .
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Timberline, CostX) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
