Literacy Intervention Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Literacy Intervention Specialist to support students with reading and writing challenges at a school in Kimberley . This role is focused on identifying students who need additional support, developing and implementing targeted intervention strategies, and monitoring their progress. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to create a comprehensive literacy support system.

The specialist's expertise is crucial in empowering students to build essential literacy skills, fostering confidence, and ensuring they have the foundational tools for academic success across all subjects.

• Identify students requiring literacy intervention through assessments and observations.
• Develop and deliver individualized and small-group literacy intervention programs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate intervention strategies into regular instruction.
• Monitor student progress using data-driven approaches and adjust intervention plans accordingly.
• Provide guidance and resources to parents to support literacy development at home.
• Stay current with research and best practices in literacy instruction and intervention.

• A degree in Education, specializing in Literacy or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in teaching or providing literacy support.
• Proven experience with various literacy assessment and intervention methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of phonics, reading comprehension, and writing strategies.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
