The Renewable Energy Policy Analyst will play a critical role in shaping the future of the national energy landscape. Key Responsibilities- Analyze and interpret national and international energy policies to assess their impact on Eskom’s renewable energy integration strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive research on emerging green technologies and their regulatory requirements.
- Draft detailed policy briefs and white papers for executive leadership and government stakeholders.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure policy alignment with grid stability and operational requirements.
- Monitor legislative changes in the energy sector and provide proactive risk assessments.
- Participate in industry forums and working groups to represent the company’s interests in the renewable energy transition.
- Advanced analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of South African energy regulations and environmental law.
- Exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable policy recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in economic modeling and statistical analysis software.
A Master’s degree in Public Policy, Environmental Law, Energy Economics, or a closely related field is mandatory. A Bachelor’s degree in Law or Political Science with specialized postgraduate studies in energy regulation will also be considered.
ExperienceCandidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in policy analysis, specifically within the energy, utilities, or environmental regulatory sectors. Proven experience in working with large-scale infrastructure projects or government regulatory bodies is highly desirable.
SalaryThe annual gross salary for this position ranges from SSP 550,000 to SSP 780,000, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
