About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to focus on municipal infrastructure projects within the Kimberley region. This role is vital for the planning, design, and implementation of essential public works, including water reticulation, sewer networks, stormwater systems, and road infrastructure. You will work closely with municipal authorities and community stakeholders to ensure the development and maintenance of reliable and sustainable infrastructure that serves the public well.
This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to local development and enhance the quality of life for residents in the Northern Cape.
- Lead the design and development of municipal civil engineering projects such as water supply systems, wastewater treatment facilities, and road networks.
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and prepare detailed technical reports for proposed infrastructure developments.
- Manage project life cycles, including procurement, construction supervision, and contract administration for public works.
- Ensure compliance with municipal standards, national regulations, and environmental protection requirements.
- Liaise with clients, local government officials, and community groups to ensure project objectives are met and stakeholder concerns are addressed.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians involved in municipal infrastructure projects.
- BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in municipal or public works infrastructure design and project management.
- Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA is essential.
- Proven experience with water, sanitation, and road design principles.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of municipal planning processes and public sector project delivery in Kimberley .
