About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Assembly Engineer to join their team in Kimberley . This role is focused on the hands-on aspects of assembling, testing, and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems and prototypes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that designs are accurately translated into functional hardware, working closely with the design and manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical principles and practical experience with assembly techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, integrate, and test mechanical prototypes and production units according to engineering specifications.
  • Develop and refine assembly procedures and work instructions for manufacturing and R&D teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues encountered during assembly and testing phases.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback on manufacturability and assembly ease.
  • Perform quality checks and ensure all assemblies meet required standards and tolerances.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, test results, and component inventory.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical assembly, testing, or manufacturing support.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments .
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
  • Experience with testing equipment and data acquisition is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
