Senior Research Engineer - Materials Science

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Engineer specializing in Materials Science to join their innovative R&D team in Kimberley . • Lead the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel materials, including polymers, composites, or nanomaterials.
• Develop and optimize material processing techniques to achieve desired performance characteristics.
• Conduct comprehensive material testing and analysis to evaluate mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties.
• Troubleshoot material-related issues and develop innovative solutions to overcome technical challenges.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, research publications, and patent disclosures.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of scientific excellence.

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials research and development.
• Proven expertise in material synthesis, characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, spectroscopy), and mechanical testing.
• Experience with specific material classes such as polymers , ceramics, composites, or nanomaterials.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to lead research initiatives.
