Our client is seeking a skilled Geophysicist to join their exploration team based in Kimberley . This role is integral to identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon reservoirs through advanced seismic data processing and interpretation. You will be responsible for analyzing seismic attributes, developing structural and strati graphic models, and contributing to the geological understanding of prospective basins. This position offers the chance to work on challenging projects using sophisticated software and methodologies in the unique geological setting of the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities
  • Process, interpret, and analyze 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures and strati graphic features.
  • Generate and refine seismic maps and interpretations for exploration and appraisal targets.
  • Utilize seismic attributes and advanced interpretation techniques to delineate potential hydrocarbon plays.
  • Integrate seismic interpretations with other geological and petrophysical data to build subsurface models.
  • Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to provide crucial geophysical insights.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal review and partner meetings.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Geophysics, Physics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in seismic interpretation within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
  • Strong understanding of seismic processing workflows and geophysical principles.
  • Experience with attribute analysis, velocity modeling, and seismic inversion.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for the Kimberley team.
