About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Mine Environmental Officer to join their team in Kimberley . This role is critical for ensuring that all mining operations comply with environmental legislation and company policies. You will be responsible for monitoring environmental impacts, implementing mitigation strategies, and promoting sustainable practices throughout the mining lifecycle. • Monitor environmental parameters such as water quality, air quality, noise levels, and rehabilitation progress.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits, licenses, and relevant legislation.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans and procedures.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits for mining activities.
• Manage waste management and pollution control programs at the mine site.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and local communities on environmental matters.

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental management within the mining industry .
• Strong knowledge of South African environmental legislation (e.g., NEMA, MPRDA).
• Experience in environmental monitoring, impact assessment, and reporting.
• Proficiency in environmental management systems and software.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
