About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and strategic Public Affairs Officer to join their team in Kimberley. This role is essential for managing the company's relationships with government entities, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to advocate for the company's interests, monitor policy developments, and ensure compliance. Working within the Northern Cape region, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's public image and fostering positive relationships with key external parties.

- Develop and implement public affairs strategies to support the company's objectives and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor government policies, legislation, and regulatory changes relevant to the industry.
- Engage with government officials, policymakers, and community leaders to advocate for the company's position.
- Prepare position papers, briefings, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with industry associations and participate in relevant forums.
- Support crisis communication efforts related to public affairs issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the political and regulatory landscape in South Africa.
- Excellent analytical, research, and policy analysis skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
