About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and strategic Renewable Energy Policy Advisor to contribute to shaping the future of sustainable energy in South Africa . Operating on a hybrid model based in Kimberley , this role involves analyzing energy policies, advising on regulatory frameworks, and advocating for initiatives that promote the growth of renewable energy sources. You will engage with government stakeholders, industry associations, and internal teams to influence policy development and ensure a supportive environment for clean energy investments.

• Research, analyze, and interpret national and provincial energy policies, regulations, and legislative changes.
• Provide expert advice on the implications of policy developments for renewable energy projects and investments.
• Develop policy recommendations and advocacy strategies to support the expansion of renewable energy.
• Engage with government officials, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to present the company's policy positions.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations on key policy issues for internal and external audiences.

• Master's degree in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy policy analysis, government affairs, or regulatory affairs, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
• Deep understanding of South Africa's energy landscape , policies, and regulatory structures.
• Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers.
