About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Network Technician to support their telecommunications infrastructure in Kimberley . This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network hardware and software. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's network, providing essential support to end-users and contributing to the overall IT infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is eager to learn, possesses strong technical aptitude, and is committed to delivering reliable network services.
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, access points, and cabling.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues for both wired and wireless users.
- Perform routine network maintenance, including software updates and security patching.
- Monitor network performance and identify potential issues before they impact users.
- Assist in the implementation of new network projects and upgrades under senior guidance.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users regarding network-related queries.
- Relevant technical qualification or certification in IT, Networking, or Telecommunications.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in IT network support or a similar role.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and basic routing.
- Experience with network hardware from major vendors is advantageous.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently.
- Good communication skills and a customer-service oriented approach for clients in Kimberley .
