About the Role
Our client is looking for a methodical and customer-oriented Insurance Claims Handler to manage claims processing from initiation to settlement in Kimberley . This role requires a strong understanding of insurance policies and a commitment to providing empathetic and efficient service to policyholders during challenging times. You will investigate claims, assess liability, negotiate settlements, and ensure accurate documentation, all while adhering to company protocols and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth functioning of the claims department, enhancing customer trust and loyalty within the Northern Cape region.
- Receive, register, and process insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
- Investigate the circumstances of claims, gather necessary documentation, and verify policy coverage.
- Assess liability and determine the appropriate course of action for claim resolution.
- Communicate effectively with claimants, providing updates and explaining the claims process.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and third parties within authorized limits.
- Ensure all claims are settled in accordance with policy terms and conditions and regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance claims handling or a related customer service role.
- Good understanding of various types of insurance policies and claims procedures.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
- Proficiency in claims management software and standard office applications.
