General Manager - Sports & Recreation Center

About the Role  Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead their vibrant Sports & Recreation Center in Kimberley . This senior leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a proven ability to manage all facets of the center's operations, from program development and financial management to staff leadership and member engagement. You will be instrumental in driving membership growth, enhancing program offerings, and ensuring the facility operates at peak efficiency and profitability.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in managing leisure or sports facilities, a strong understanding of business operations, and a passion for promoting community health and well-being through accessible recreational opportunities.

Key Responsibilities   Oversee all operational, financial, and administrative aspects of the Sports & Recreation Center.
Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve membership, revenue, and program participation goals.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of department managers and staff, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment.
Manage the annual budget, including financial forecasting, expense control, and capital expenditure planning.
Ensure the highest standards of facility maintenance, safety, and customer service are consistently met.
Develop and promote innovative recreational programs, events, and services to meet community needs.
Requirements   Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Recreation Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in facility management or general management, preferably in the sports or recreation industry.
Demonstrated success in financial management, P&L responsibility, and strategic planning.
Proven experience in leading and motivating diverse teams.
Strong understanding of marketing, sales, and customer relationship management principles.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
