About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Production Planning Engineer to manage and optimize production schedules at their facility in Kimberley . This role is critical for ensuring efficient resource allocation, timely order fulfillment, and adherence to production targets. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring production plans, collaborating closely with manufacturing, procurement, and sales teams to ensure seamless operations.
This is a key position for driving operational efficiency and meeting market demands within the industrial landscape of the Northern Cape province.
- Develop and maintain accurate production schedules, considering capacity, material availability, and customer order priorities.
- Monitor production progress and identify any deviations from the plan, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to optimize production flow and minimize lead times.
- Analyze production data to forecast future needs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Communicate production plans and status updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
- 2-4 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations support.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency in production planning software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, scheduling software).
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience working within industrial environments in Kimberley or the broader Northern Cape region.
