About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Scientist to join their Pharmaceutical Development team in Kimberley . This critical role focuses on the formulation development of new drug products, ensuring their safety, efficacy, and stability. You will lead formulation strategies, design and execute pre-formulation and formulation studies, and contribute to the overall drug development process. This is an excellent opportunity for a scientist with a strong background in pharmaceutics to make a significant impact on bringing new therapies to patients within a dynamic R&D environment in the Northern Cape .
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and execution of pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility assessments.
- Develop robust formulations for various dosage forms (e.g., oral solids, injectables) utilizing appropriate excipients and technologies.
- Plan and conduct formulation development experiments, process optimization, and scale-up activities.
- Characterize drug product performance using relevant analytical techniques.
- Prepare comprehensive development reports and contribute to regulatory submission documents.
- Collaborate closely with analytical, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
- In-depth knowledge of drug delivery systems, formulation science, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Proficiency with analytical techniques used for characterization of drug substances and drug products.
- Proven ability to design and execute complex experiments and interpret results.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
