Research Scientist - Genetics and Genomics

About the Role  Our client is seeking a skilled Research Scientist with expertise in Genetics and Genomics to join their innovative team in Kimberley . This role is central to advancing our understanding of genetic factors influencing complex diseases and traits. You will be responsible for designing and conducting genomic studies, analyzing large-scale genetic data, and contributing to the interpretation of results.

Key Responsibilities   Design and implement genetic and genomic studies, including association studies and sequencing projects.
Analyze large-scale genomic datasets using bioinformatics tools and statistical methods.
Interpret genetic findings and their implications for disease risk, progression, and treatment.
Collaborate with statisticians, bioinformaticians, and clinicians to integrate diverse data types.
Prepare manuscripts for publication and present research findings at scientific conferences.
Requirements   Ph.D. in Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral or relevant industry experience in genetics and genomics research.
Proficiency in genetic analysis software and statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python).

Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid research setting.
