To ensure an efficient and professional pharmaceutical service is provided to the hospital and public

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

B Pharm / BSc Pharm

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

3-5 years experience as a Pharmacist post community services with experience in communiyt of institutional / hospital pharmcy settings. At least 2 years of this experience should be in a private hospital/ instutional pharmacy setting.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Supervisory or managerial experience within a pharmacy setting

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Lead and manage the people in the department

Manage pharmaceutical stock (own, loan and consignment)

Manage and mitigate departmental risks

Manage and control departmental budgets / finances

Deliver a safe and efficient pharmaceutical service

Provide an out-patient pharmacy service

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Risk management processes and procedures

Pharmacy and related healthcare industry

Financial management

Ethical and surgical product knowledge

Relevant Pharmacy legislation (e.g. Pharmacy Act; Good pharmacy practice; Medicine Control Act 101 of 1965)

Medical Aid Scheme benefits; regulations and formularies

Clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship

Pharmacy stock management
