What Is The Opportunity?
The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario. SGRT is part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) project and includes the removal of the steam generators and the installation of replacement steam generators with related plant modifications. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.
SGRT has been awarded contracts for Unit 5, 7, and 8 for steam generator replacements as part of the Bruce Major Component Replacement project.
As an Assistant Field Engineering Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful execution of defined segments of work within the project, including achieving our operational goals for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost. You will review the project schedule, milestones, budget, commercial and technical aspects.
What You’ll Do Here
Develop, maintain, and regularly review the project schedule, ensuring accuracy.
Create and implement Action/Recovery Plans to address schedule performance issues.
Validate and monitor project metrics (Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule) for assigned work segments.
Prepare and deliver project deliverables, turnover documents, construction work packages, etc.
Identify and report any resource constraints impacting planned work.
Identify potential changes to work in accordance with the project change management procedure.
Ensure all required materials and services are identified, ordered, and risks are managed with action/recovery plans.
Confirm all project staff and trades are fully trained for their tasks.
Actively involve in quality assurance, understanding and implementing policies and procedures.
Coordinate prerequisite and execution task readiness for client and station reporting requirements, including schedule and risk review meetings with construction management, supervision, engineering, quality, procurement, and subcontractors.
Ensure outage readiness milestones are achieved and verified.
Schedule and coordinate readiness meetings with the full cross‑functional team as required.
Prepare, populate and status readiness check sheets based on work window schedules.
