This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote flexibility with in-office and field work.
Construction Administration Responsibilities - Core Focus
• Serve as a key liaison between field construction teams and office-based site civil/LA design staff.
• Coordinate closely with owners, architects, MEPF engineers, construction managers and contractors to support construction-phase activities for site improvements.
• Interact regularly with prime contractors, typically general and/or site contractors, responsible for site work.
• Review and manage construction documentation including RFI responses, submittals, shop drawings, and change order evaluations.
• Attend recurring construction meetings (typically bi-weekly) and conduct targeted site visits to observe, document, and report on construction progress.
• Ensure construction activities align with design intent, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Design Responsibilities - Secondary Focus
• Prepare and oversee site civil and landscape architecture designs, including grading, stormwater management, roadways, utilities, drainage, soil erosion, sediment control, and site planning.
• Provide project oversight and project management support for multiple projects.
• Prepare technical reports, design findings, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other contract documents.
• Conduct feasibility and due diligence studies; assist in land use and zoning processes.
• Prepare exhibits and renderings for project presentations.
• Assist with obtaining construction and land use permits from state, county, and local agencies.
• Mentor junior staff, delegate tasks, and provide guidance on technical design and project management assignments.
• Collaborate with owners, regulatory agencies, architects, construction managers and contractors to ensure project success.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required.
• 5+ years of related design and construction experience, with focus on both the design and construction of site improvements including roadways, driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, athletic fields, drainage infrastructure, utility infrastructure, stormwater management facilities, and landscaping improvements including familiarity with municipal, DEP and DOT permitting.
• Experience in construction administration or construction-phase coordination for civil/site projects, ideally within both the public and private sectors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD with Civil 3D modeling experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of bid and construction processes and site civil engineering bid and construction documentation including plans and technical specifications.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client coordination.
T&M Associates is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation practices in compliance with applicable laws, including the New Jersey Equal Pay Act. T&M estimates that the salary range for this position will fall between $91,000 - $118,000
The actual salary offered may vary within this range, depending on a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, educational qualifications, specific skills and knowledge, as well as internal pay equity and geographic location.
