• Lead small-group project teams to propose, select, qualify, and test metals and composites for hyper-sonic projectiles and atmospheric re-entry vehicle applications.
• Perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments.
• Troubleshoot problems and find innovative solutions.
• Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports.
• Engage regularly with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to meet program objectives.
• Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.
• Typically looking for 0 to 2 years of professional experience.

• A self-starter who develops solutions to technical issues.
• A motivated individual who can work closely within a geographically diverse team to resolve technical issues.
• Someone with the ability to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects and timeline pressure to meet deadlines.
• Someone comfortable with communicating in a variety of forums.
• Someone willing to mentor and guide junior engineers.
• The ability to work with management and program representatives at several levels.
• Technical leadership of small teams or projects.
• Proven ability to communicate key project information or recommendations to Program management and/or Customers.
• BS Degree in Materials Engineering or related background or field of study.
• Formal coursework, training, experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of mechanical parts or materials.
• Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• This position requires the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance.

• Knowledge of engineering drawings, bill of materials, alloys and heat treatment, polymeric materials and corrosion control methods.
• Familiarity with technical requirements and engineering standards used in aerospace.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, computers and network systems.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task, with demonstrated leadership skills.
• Energetic, detail oriented and enjoy working in dynamic development environment with shifting priorities.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
