Staff Engineer I | Municipal & Water Resources

, we’re an employee‑owned, nationally recognized consulting engineering firm. We’re looking for a Staff Engineer I | Municipal & Water Resources in our Lehigh Valley, PA office. As a Staff Engineer I, you will support the design, development, and execution of engineering projects that impact the communities we serve, collaborating with senior engineers and project managers, assisting with research and data analysis, and preparing technical reports.
- Assist with municipal engineering and design tasks related to land development, municipal infrastructure, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, stream restoration, and other water resources projects under close supervision.
- Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic modeling using HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, PCSWMM, Hydro
CAD, and Hydraflow. - Research regulatory requirements, prepare technical reports, perform calculations, and support permit applications and approvals for agencies including PADEP, ACOE, County Conservation Districts, and others.
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce construction drawings, technical specifications, and related engineering documentation.
- Perform construction observations, meet with clients and agency representatives, and monitor work progress on project sites.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- E.I.T. certification preferred.
- 0–3 years of experience, including a previous internship with a consulting engineering company preferred.
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Detail‑oriented, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Logical and analytical thinking to resolve engineering challenges.
- Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Team player with a collaborative approach.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, PCSWMM, Hydro
CAD, and Hydraflow advantageous. - Effective use of common business platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting tools, project management systems.
- Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices; overnight stays may be required.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
