Divisional Director of Nursing Services - Behavioral Health Division Responsibilities
- Facilitates and coordinates a review of all nursing related standards of care to ensure that all nursing processes are current and compliant with state and federal nursing standards of practice.
- Develops training material for orientation of nursing leaders and training opportunities related to nursing care and practice.
- Assures that the facility is compliant with all regulations pertaining to nursing, staffing, medication management and infection control on a federal, state and local level.
- Sets expectations, develops plans, and manages processes to assess measure and improve the quality of nursing care.
- Seeks methods to improve current nursing practices by advocating the use of evidence-based practices. Assists in the identification of high risk, problem prone nursing issues and proposes solutions to address these system practices.
- May be asked to investigate, in collaboration with the hospital, any nursing quality concerns such as those received from the state and federal agencies. Assists in preparing in collaboration with appropriate nursing and hospital personnel responses and plans of correction as necessary within designated time frame.
- Conducts analysis of staffing plans to ensure local staffing grids are appropriate to the population in treatment and to support nurse retention.
- Collaborates with CEOs, Group Directors and VPs on any identified nursing related issues and offers plans for correction as required.
- Travel in this role can be extensive, with up to 80‑85% of your time dedicated to traveling to and supporting our facilities nationwide.

- Five to ten years of regulatory/accreditation experience in a free‑standing mental health hospital setting, with a working knowledge of regulatory standards, team development, clinical services and quality tools (preferably healthcare).
- Clinical nursing degree required, master’s degree required.
- Knowledge of performance improvement principles including data analysis required.
- Knowledge of risk management principles required.
- Knowledge of psychiatric clinical programming required.
- Experience with residential treatment environment and regulations preferred.
- This position requires regional & national travel, 2‑3 weeks per month.
