All About On‑DemandAs an On‑Demand Team Member (TM) you choose your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members. Pick up a shift reliably and promptly to keep your employment active. You must work at least one shift within 5 months or you will be administratively terminated.
All About Service & EngagementAdvocates welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations through guest interaction, loyalty enrollment, store cleanliness, and digital services. You empower guests to quickly and easily shop at check‑lanes, guest services, gift registry, Pick‑Up, and Drive‑Up while ensuring exceptional quality.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
- Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
- Know the tools, products, and services available to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
- Thank guests and express happiness they chose Target.
- Scan and bag all guest items efficiently and accurately, following food safety standards and company best practices.
- Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining accuracy.
- Inform guests of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
- Discuss Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application or sign‑up as needed.
- Help guests use Wallet and other Target App features.
- Attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders as needed.
- Partner with leaders to de‑escalate any situations and recover the guest shopping experience.
- Deliver accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive‑Up, and Registry guests.
- Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area and gather abandoned items, baskets, and hangers.
- Stock supplies during store open hours and stay available for the guest.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Work in a safe manner at all times, complying with safety policies and training.
- Support guest services such as order pick‑up, Drive‑Up orders, returns, and maintain compliance with adult beverage laws.
- Support Cash Office processes, including cash system management.
- Complete all other duties based on business needs.
- You enjoy interacting with guests and fellow team members.
- You thrive in a fast‑moving, highly active environment that requires teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem‑solving.
- You are open to working a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times).
Skills & Qualifications
- Communicating effectively, using positive language and attentive to guest needs.
- Remaining focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment while accomplishing multiple tasks.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Attending to detail while multitasking.
- Willingness to educate guests and engage around products and services.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Accurately handle cash register operations and support cash office operations.
- Move merchandise efficiently and safely, lifting up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds.
- Flexibility when picking up shifts such as nights, weekends, and holidays to meet store needs.
- Work at least one shift within 5 months or risk administrative termination.
- Perform duties in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements, including Drive‑Up and carry‑out.
- Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift; shift length may vary.
