Salary Range: $57,000.00 To $70,500.00 Annually

We are in search of a Associate Scientist II, Upstream Operations who will be responsible for executing Upstream or Downstream operations for the production and purification of vial-based vectors for clinical use. This role will require developing a robust understanding of the process science behind Franklin Biolabs’ platform manufacturing technologies as well as developing a good understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements to execute processes.

• Minimum of BS/BA degree in Biology, Biochemical Eng, Chemical Eng, or related discipline required.
• 1-3 years of direct experience in cell culture, large scale manufacturing, and/or purification techniques.

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and agencies (USDA, OLAW, FDA, AAALAC).
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Must be meticulous, detail oriented, and analytical.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate through conflicting situations.
• Self-directed individual with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with limited direction.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to interact with team members, clients, vendors and other third parties.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals across various disciplines to ensure alignment.
• Ability to use digital communication tools (video conferencing, chat platforms etc.) to effectively collaborate with team members in hybrid and remote settings.

• This position requires full-time on-site presence at our Discovery Labs location.
• This position may be required to work during non-standard business hours (e.g., weekends, early or late weekdays) as needed to support operations.
• Essential for Closure:
  This position may be required to go on-site during company closures to sustain the life and care of biological materials. Examples of company closures include snow days, special shutdowns, etc.
