Position OverviewWe are seeking a talented and motivated Back‑End/Services Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. This role is ideal for an early‑career developer who is passionate about building scalable, reliable, and high‑performance cloud services. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing modern Java and Python microservices that run within a modern orchestration and cloud environment (such as AWS).

- Writing, building, deploying, and maintaining diverse software applications
- Overseeing and guiding the analyzing, writing, building, and deployment of software
- Overseeing the automated testing and providing feedback to management during the development process
- Modifying and testing changes to previously developed programs
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Experience with Java and/or Python (academic only experience is ok)
- Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Ability to effectively work within a software engineering team
- Ability to work in office full time
- Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
- Experience with lightweight frameworks such as Quarkus or Spring Boot
- Testing experience, including unit tests (e.g., JUnit), system tests, and integration tests
- Proficiency with various data storage solutions (Postgre
SQL, Mongo
DB, AWS or Azure cloud storage services) - Experience implementing and managing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines. Git Lab CI/CD is preferred, but Jenkins experience is also acceptable
- Proficiency with Maven, Gradle, and NPM
- Knowledge of and practical experience with standard AWS managed services (S3, ECS, EC2, Lambda, Step Functions, Dynamo
DB, Open Search) - Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with Government Clouds (e.g. Gov Cloud, C2S)
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with Python
- Experience with Source Control tools (e.g., Git, Gitlab)
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops and Agile Scrum software development methodology including using tools like Git, Jira and Confluence
- IAT Level II or III certification (e.g. Security+, CISSP, or CASP)
