The Import Team is responsible for overseeing the effective design and provision of import logistics solutions that prioritize both timeliness and high quality delivery standards, ensuring the compliant movement of goods through local customs and regulatory processes.
This encompasses a broad range of logistics based tasks, involving the strategic coordination of internal Biocair teams, third party supplier networks, customs brokers, and customers, to ensure that the transport and delivery of goods align seamlessly with customer expectations.
The Import Coordinator will review pre-alerts for accuracy, obtain needed permits and declarations, and arrange for shipment release from airlines and final delivery of shipments to the customer.
Responsibilities will include:- Review import notifications and pre-alerts for accuracy
- Point of contact for customs brokers, responding to requests for additional commodity details, permits, licenses and statements
- Obtain import approval from Importer of Record/consignee
- Instruct airline handling agents on maintaining temperature validation by re-icing or repacking
- Resolve issues with delivery as needed with Transport and Customer Care Teams
- Update transport management system with clearance activity and import milestones
- Identify and capture all exception expenses incurred in operations and in shipment deviations, ensuring full transparency and appropriate cost allocation
- Act as a Data Steward for import broker details in transportation management system, ensuring quality and accuracy by formatting and cleaning data received by customers and the customer portal per standards set by the Import Manager

- Experience in logistics, courier, or freight forwarding role
- Knowledge and familiarity with HTS codes and Incoterms
- Knowledge and familiarity with global customs procedures and documentation
- Attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Between $24-$26 per hour, commensurate with experience

Please note this is a full time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07.30 - 16.00 and is offered as 100% on-site based from our Philadelphia office.
