Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager Needed

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead and manage complex land development and infrastructure projects throughout Washington. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and proven client relationship management.

• Serve as senior project manager and client liaison on complex civil engineering projects.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, design, and execution phases with full accountability for schedule and quality.
• Oversee preparation of improvement plans, technical documents, and permit applications for subdivisions, multi-family, commercial, and public works projects.
• Supervise and mentor engineering staff while maintaining a high level of team performance and morale.
• Perform contract administration, ensure accurate client billings, and assist with accounts receivable tracking.
• Manage internal resources and coordinate with other departments, including CAD, surveying, and planning.
• Lead coordination with agencies and jurisdictions (e.g., Pierce, King, Mason, and Kitsap Counties) for project permitting and approvals.
• Conduct technical and regulatory research to inform and guide design decisions.
• Attend and lead client meetings, kickoff sessions, and design reviews.
• Prepare for and lead public presentations, hearings, and community meetings to effectively communicate project objectives, provide updates, and facilitate stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, design standards, and jurisdictional policies.
• Support business development efforts including proposal preparation, pricing, and scope definition.
• Provide leadership, strategic direction, and mentorship across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Maintain a positive team environment while delivering technically sound, constructible, and budget-compliant solutions.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Washington (optional).
• 10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on land development, infrastructure design, and project management.
• Extensive knowledge of local codes and design standards, particularly in Western Washington counties.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary project teams, budgets, and schedules.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills; ability to represent the firm at meetings and public forums.
• Ability to interpret topographic surveys, civil engineering plans, and jurisdictional regulations.
• Commitment to quality assurance, ethical decision-making, and high standards of technical excellence.
• Adept at handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.
• Skilled at mentoring junior staff and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

• PMP Certification or formal project management training.
• Strong understanding of regional development challenges and opportunities.
