Lead MRI Technologist - Imaging Services
Kingman Regional Medical Center is hiring a Full-Time Lead MRI Technologist in Imaging Services.
Key Responsibilities- Supervision of MRI staff: coordinates the work assigned to each area, assigns daily schedules, and ensures accurate record keeping.
- Observe and assist technical and ancillary staff, provide suggestions for improved efficiency and quality.
- Perform preparation of control and quality control and assessment tasks (QA/QC).
- Ensure the department delivers high-quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards to support operational excellence.
- Serve as the Clinical Coordinator for MRI students.
- Evaluation and Implementation of Appropriate Care: under the direction of the Radiologist and AZDHS, anatomically position patients and perform MRI procedures, adapt procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes, and select appropriate patient care plans.
- Use professional judgment to select procedures, shielding and immobilization devices as needed; review data and assess patient abilities and conditions.
- Verify patient identification with two identifiers and confirm the procedure requested; verify pregnancy status when appropriate.
- Monitor patients and equipment during procedures; document exam times, patient reactions, and report concerns to the supervisor.
- Demonstrate advanced MRI techniques including angiography and image reformatting as required.
- Maintain knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images; ensure safety compliance with MR guidelines.
- Quality of Care: provide evidence-based care to prevent Healthcare-Acquired Conditions and readmissions; follow standard precautions and CDC hand hygiene guidelines; comply with regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Patient Satisfaction: apply AIDET principles, demonstrate empathy, support department patient-satisfaction goals, attend meetings, and complete licensure, competencies, training, and education timely; participate in process improvement.
- Education:
Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program. - Certification/Licensure:
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Arizona Department of Health Services licensure if registered through ARRT; ARRT registration (preferred).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
- OR: ARRT MRI registration or ARM it MRI certification with ARRT required within one year post cross-training within organization.
- Experience:
Minimum of one year of MRI technologist experience; on-the-job training with external didactic education acceptable.
- Education from ARRT/JCERT/ACR-accredited program preferred.
- Experience as a supervisor or lead is preferred.
- Able to handle multiple priorities; effective communication aligned with KRMC values.
- Ability to operate technical equipment and assist with patient and equipment movement (up to 300 lbs).
- Able to care for patients with infectious diseases; able to sit, stand, walk, and bend for shift duration; able to monitor and respond to monitors during exams.
