Overview
Provide intensive oncology pharmaceutical care services in collaboration with other health professionals. Promote high quality, evidence-based, cost-effective oncology pharmaceutical care, managing patient drug therapy, provide patient education and perform duties in the Cancer Center and other clinical areas as required and assigned.
Additional responsibilities include pharmacy consults/clinical interventions, interdisciplinary collaboration, integrated support, departmental leadership, and professional mentorship. Participates in multidisciplinary hospital committees and takes leadership role in departmental oncology clinical education and research activities. Cancer therapy/disease community education, professional publication and presentation is strongly encouraged and supported.
Responsibilities- Provide intensive oncology pharmaceutical care services in collaboration with other health professionals, promoting high quality, evidence-based, cost-effective care; manage patient drug therapy; provide patient education; perform duties in the Cancer Center and other clinical areas as required and assigned.
- Participate in pharmacy consults/clinical interventions, interdisciplinary collaboration, integrated support, and departmental leadership.
- Take leadership role in departmental oncology clinical education and research activities.
- Engage in cancer therapy/disease community education, professional publication and presentation when supported or encouraged.
- Education:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy. - Licensure:
Pharmacist License in the State of Arizona required (can obtain after hire).
- ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency Program PGY-2 Oncology or Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) – Oncology Certification or equivalent clinical experience in direct oncology patient pharmaceutical care, required.
- Previous clinical and academic experience leading pharmacy oncology drug services is highly desirable.
- CANDIDATE DETAILS: 2+ to 5 years experience.
