- Join our dynamic team as a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) and work under the guidance of licensed physical therapists to administer personalized rehabilitation programs for residents with chronic conditions or recovering from surgery or injury.
- Review and interpret resident evaluations, conduct physical examinations, and promote wellness.
- Assess resident health and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the physical therapy team; perform manual exercises and motivate residents to participate in physical activities and use supportive devices.
- Instruct residents on therapeutic regimens, share insights on normal growth and development, and champion wellness and health maintenance.
- Document progress and achievements in resident and department records; maintain confidentiality and address concerns collaboratively.
- Ensure a safe and compliant physical therapy environment by adhering to organizational standards, policies, and legal regulations.
- Strive to meet and exceed physical therapy production objectives and stay attuned to evolving treatment trends.
- Manage physical therapy equipment, perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs.
- Manage supplies by anticipating needs, placing orders, and maintaining a well-stocked environment.
- Graduate of an accredited school for Physical Therapy Assistants and a valid licensed registration for the state of employment.
- Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and basic math skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Acute care, long-term care and/or rehabilitation experience, preferred.
- The role is physically demanding and requires good physical condition.
- Engage in tasks requiring close visual acuity and effective communication with patients, staff, management, and clients.
- Navigate and endure various physical activities including walking, standing, balancing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Independently perform maximum assist patient transfers; position and transfer patients, supplies, and equipment with efficiency.
- Occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force, frequently up to 50 pounds, and have constant exertion of up to 20 pounds to move objects.
Work schedules vary at each location. You may be scheduled to work at any other location.
