The incumbent will provide skilled, compassionate patient care and contribute to a healthy work environment through skilled communication, collaboration, effective decision making, appropriate staffing, and meaningful recognition.

• Conduct skilled clinical duties under the direction of a licensed professional nurse.
• Under physicians’ direction and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act, provide nursing care that complies with nursing standards and regulations.
• Utilize the nursing process to continuously assess patients, implement interventions, develop and revise nursing care plans, and evaluate responses.
• Perform evidence‑based care to prevent healthcare‑acquired conditions and readmissions.
• Adhere to standard precautions and CDC hand hygiene guidelines, working to reduce hospital‑acquired infections.
• Complete assessments, diagnoses, and care plans according to hospital policies and patient needs.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to determine and implement care plans.
• Document care in a clear, concise manner, including admission, assessment forms, care plans, medication, and intervention records.
• Provide thorough discharge instructions and maintain discharge folders.
• Engage in educational offerings, monthly departmental meetings, and weekly goal setting with preceptors.
• Maintain patient satisfaction by performing hourly rounds, using AIDET, and updating communication boards.

• Current BLS (CPR) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or graduation from a Nursing Diploma program within the last 6 months (12 months for those without acute‑care experience).
• Alternatively, completion of a refresher program within 6 months.
• Current, valid Arizona RN license or compact state RN license (required by the end of the residency program).

• Handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Manage business equipment such as phone, fax, and computer.
• Lift 50–70 lbs; assist with lifting adults up to 300 lbs.
• Care for patients with infectious diseases.
• Sit, stand, and walk for 3–5 hours per day.
