Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week) Closing Date : 4 of October 2026 We are looking for a motivated professional to join us as a NPFDU Information Rights Officer & Trainer, within a national policing unit. More about the role

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of national policing, helping to promote transparency and public trust through the Information Rights process. As an Information Rights Officer and trainer, you will play a key role in managing and responding to Right of Access requests received by the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC). You will research and analyse information, apply data protection legislation and exemptions, draft responses, and work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the police service to ensure timely and compliant disclosures.

You will also act as a help desk to other police forces with wider data protection queries and be involved in national data sharing opportunities. As a trainer, you will, develop, maintain and deliver a National DP Training packages, designed to promote DP best practice across the Police Service, mitigating the risk of breaches and ICO regulatory action. We're looking for someone with strong written communication skills, excellent attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to analyse and interpret information.

You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and confident in building effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across multiple organisations not just policing. Flexible working requests will be considered for this vacancy. The successful applicant must work a minimum of 28 hours, across 4 days. More about Us The NPFDU manage and coordinate national FOI activity, and act as the central conduit for advice and guidance across UK forces. The Unit is hosted by Hampshire Constabulary and operates within the ACRO Criminal Records Office, another national unit.
