, we are seeking a Design Engineer to join our innovative team and contribute to the future of natural gas distribution and transmission systems.

In this role, you will participate in all phases of the project lifecycle—from modeling and drafting to design and field work—helping to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable engineering solutions. You’ll collaborate with experienced professionals, develop your technical expertise, and play a key part in projects that make a lasting impact.

Compensation: $60,000–$85,000, based on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality engineering design work accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Read and interpret data from field surveys, design locates, and other technical sources.
  • Develop and review engineering drawings and basic P&IDs.
  • Support permitting processes, HDD designs, and as‑built documentation.
  • Ensure project scope, schedule, and budget requirements are met for all stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical reports, design plans, and other project documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and team members, maintaining clear and professional communication.
  • Contribute to team and company goals through leadership, problem‑solving, and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed on federal, state, and client requirements to strengthen your understanding of gas system design.
  • Maintain target billable goals and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)

Minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering environment

Experience in natural gas pipelines or utility design preferred

Previous internship experience with Magnolia River is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Exposure to project types such as HDD Design, M&R Design, SCADA/Electrical Design, As‑built projects, and hydrostatic pressure testing

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment

Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed to meet project deadlines

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This position involves a combination of office and field work
, providing opportunities to see projects progress from concept through completion.

Regular communication with clients and team members is required.

Frequent use of computers and other office equipment.

Occasional travel to project sites for inspection or data collection.

Ability to identify colors, distances, and spatial relationships for design accuracy.
