Cook

Phoenix Senior Living is seeking a Cook to join our team.

The Cook reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director and is responsible for all food preparation to ensure quality, quantity, and service schedule requirements are met. The Cook manages food production in the absence of the Lead Cook or Food and Beverage Director, handling all foods in accordance with sanitary procedures and regulatory procedures.

Mon‑Fri; every other weekend required. Full-time.

• Prepare and serve meals, sanitize food service areas, maintain accurate record keeping, receive, rotate, and inventory products, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Adhere to posted menus and prepare food items using approved Phoenix standardized recipes in a timely manner.
• Follow production sheets and instructions, prepare special dietary and texture‑modified foods.
• Organize work to meet production and service requirements, monitor temperature, taste, and quality standards.
• Maintain sanitary conditions, operate dish machine(s), wash and sanitize all dishes, china, utensils, and cookware.
• Record and maintain temperature logs for equipment, cooking, holding, cooling, and food production quantities; conduct taste evaluation.
• Record keeping for resident service standards, maintain confidentiality of resident information, review Resident Diet Book and related documents.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma/ GED required.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
• One (1) year related food preparation experience, including full‑line menu items and therapeutic diets.
• Current SERV‑Safe certificate or willingness to complete training.
