Job SummaryCatawba Two Kings Casino is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the casino’s facilities, equipment, and systems are operating safely and efficiently. This role supports the gaming floor, restaurants, hotel areas, and back‑of‑house operations by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on casino facilities, including gaming areas, restaurants, hotel rooms, and common spaces.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to minimize downtime.
- Respond promptly to maintenance and repair of specialized casino equipment (lighting, security systems, surveillance equipment, signage, etc.).
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe, and in compliance with OSHA and gaming requirements.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in compliance with company policies.
- Support special projects such as remodels, upgrades, or installations within the property.
- Work collaboratively with other departments and outside vendors to ensure timely and effective resolution of maintenance issues.
- Perform daily facilities tasks, such as landscaping, carpentry, handy‑man, and sanitation.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation and respond to after‑hours emergencies as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent, required; technical/vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience in a commercial, hospitality, or casino environment, required.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems, and carpentry required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License as required by tribal and state authorities.
- Must be at least twenty‑one (21) years of age.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to operate hand tools accurately and effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, using the English language.
- Ability to work an alternate schedule as needed, to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work in a loud fast‑paced environment (may occasionally be exposed to second‑hand cigarette smoke).
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; bend to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; talk, hear, and see. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
