Teaching Assistant​/TA

A specialist SEMH school in Exeter is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. Our school provides a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for students who struggle in mainstream education due to challenging behaviours and the effects of trauma.

• Work closely with teaching staff to support students in their learning and personal development.
• Assist in delivering small group sessions and one-to-one interventions tailored to individual needs.
• Help maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment.
• Foster strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage progress and engagement.

• Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH or SEN setting.
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
