Private Client Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive – Kingsbridge

An established South West law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its growing team in Kingsbridge and take responsibility for a dedicated sub team.

The Private Client Role

You will manage an established portfolio of private clients while overseeing the day-to-day work of a small team.

Your caseload will cover a broad range of private client matters, including:

• Will drafting and review
• Estate planning and succession planning
• Probate and estate administration
• Inheritance Tax planning and advice
• Lifetime planning
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Court of Protection matters
• Trust creation and administration

The department acts for a loyal and established client base, including a significant number of high-net-worth individuals and families throughout the South Hams and wider Devon area.

Team Leadership and Progression

This is more than a standard Private Client fee-earner position. The role could therefore suit a Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive who has already gained some supervisory experience, or someone who is ready to take their first step into a team leadership position.

About You

The firm is looking for a qualified Private Client lawyer with a minimum of 2 years' PQE and solid experience across core areas of private client work.

You should have:

• Qualification as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
• At least 2 years' post-qualification experience in Private Client
• Experience managing your own Private Client caseload
• Strong knowledge of wills, probate and estate administration
• Experience with estate planning and inheritance tax matters
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of files
• An interest in developing your leadership and supervisory responsibilities

A STEP qualification would be advantageous, as would previous experience supervising colleagues. However, neither is essential for the right candidate.
