Registered A&E Nurse

This is a bank nursing post with NHS Professionals, which supplies staff to University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust for its A&E department. The work centres on assessing and monitoring patients in urgent, changing clinical situations, checking symptoms and vital signs, and arranging diagnostic tests. Successful candidates choose from bank shifts or fixed-term placements across client Trusts in England. Fit depends on recent A&E experience: at least six months of paid work in an A&E hospital setting within the last three years.

• Assess and monitor patient conditions
• Check symptoms and vital signs and arrange diagnostic tests
• Use analytical ability and sound decision making in changing clinical situations
• Work as an effective team member, promoting team and interdisciplinary relationships

• NMC professional registration, kept up to date with current nursing practice

• At least 6 months paid experience in an A&E hospital environment within the last 3 years

• Assessing and monitoring patient conditions

• Excellent analytical ability and sound decision making in changing clinical situations
• Effective team working and promoting team and interdisciplinary relationships

• Additional certification or skills, depending on the Trust
