This position reports to the Solar O&M Supervisor. The Solar O&M Tech III will be directly responsible for all aspects of the maintenance and operation of utility-scale PV power plant. Duties include monitoring PV plant operation through SCADA, commissioning, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying Inverters, transformers, switch gear, trackers, and metering systems. Additionally, this position is responsible for the supervision of associates/contractors to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely performance of maintenance activities in the field.
This position will act as the primary responder to automated service calls generated by remote alarm notification systems. Candidate should be able to fully run the site with limited to no supervision and be prepared to take over supervision of the facility in the absence of the Solar O&M Supervisor.

- Attend, train, and participate in and pass all assigned training in safety, environmental, and other areas as assigned.
- Responsible for personal safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Comply with Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Brief, and Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures.
- Understanding of electrical safety and arc flash standards.
- Ability to create, follow and lead operating, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Knowledge of local and national electrical codes.
- Advanced understanding of Electrical schematics and electrical principles.
- Ability to perform, train and lead a team in testing, switching, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage equipment, including transformers, breakers, relays, contractors, motors, trackers, DC array and inverters, to name a few.
- Interfacing with Engineers to discuss relay files pulled after an incident, utilizing results to develop action plan to isolate and restore equipment.
- Coordinate on-site project planning, installations, commissioning, quality inspections, and performance testing.
- Write and enforce work and equipment testing instructions and procedures, including normal and maintenance operating procedures.
- Assist O&M Supervisor in development of weekly work schedules, ensure teams’ CMMS work orders are complete in their entirety. Prepare documents necessary for procurement and utilization of materials and vendor services.
- Perform testing using IV Curve Tracers, Power Quality Meters, Insulation Resistance Testers, Multimeters, and other equipment, as needed.
- Provide leadership to a team of Field Service Technicians focusing on reliability-based philosophies, including executing prioritized work schedules, mentoring, coaching, and evaluating performance.
- Liaising and negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers in support of material and third-party services.
- Keep track of quality, quantity, and stock levels of all materials on the sites.
- Proven computer skills in a Windows environment (Microsoft Office Products) are required.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
- Self-directed and accountable, able to think critically about processes and issues.
- Maintain the Plant’s vegetation requirements by use of mechanical and or chemical in accordance with site regulations.
- Communicate cross-functionally across all necessary parts of the organization to achieve a resolution to plant issues.
- Maintain work area and site housekeeping to company standards.
- Must be available for night, overtime, weekend, and holiday work as required.
- May be required to support job responsibilities as needed outside of scheduled work hours.
- Occasional travel may be required.

High School Diploma or GED required. College or technical degree preferred. Electrical certifications, state, journeyman, etc. a plus.
