Job Details:

• Work 36/36 schedule with every other weekend required

• No call responsibilities

• Required to float to other units as needed

• 2 years of nursing experience required

• Accepts first time travelers

• AHA BLS certification required

• MS/Tele and Med/Surg experience required

• Must live 100 miles from the facility

• 16 hours of non-billable orientation starting on Sundays with online CBLs

• Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty if census decreases

• Additional overtime shifts may be flexed as needed based on hospital census

• Expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education

• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only

• Required skills include telemetry monitoring, use of rapid response/code teams, pre/post hemodialysis management, accessing/managing ports, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, colostomy care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, IV starts and maintenance, medication administration, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions

• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred

• Care for adult patients with daily census of 30 patients in a 30-bed unit

• Drug test must be completed within 12-14 days prior to start date

• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed for fit testing per CDC guidelines

The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial services. The healthcare organization is committed to nursing education and requires contract staff to actively participate in supporting nursing students and clinical education to prepare future healthcare professionals.
