Consider this challenging opportunity in the Ontario and Superior Court of Justice, where you will assist in coordinating and scheduling cases in criminal, family, civil and other courts.
Responsibilities- Assisting the Trial Coordinator in maintaining court lists utilizing established scheduling practices.
- Processing documents and orders; liaising with Trial Coordinators, judiciary, counsel, other staff, and the public regarding the scheduling of matters.
- Identifying and bringing issues that may affect the schedule to the attention of the Trial Coordinator(s).
- Assisting in the preparation of statistical information.
- You have knowledge of the functions and rules of the Ontario and Superior Courts of Justice, relevant legislation and legal terminology.
- You have judgement and problem solving skills.
- You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- You possess analytical skills to assist with the compilation of statistical data.
- Organizational, coordination and planning skills to assist with the scheduling of court sittings.
- The ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with tact and diplomacy with judges, staff, counsel and the public.
- You are proficient with computer applications (word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, email, Internet and management information systems).
