About the job

Consider this challenging opportunity in the Ontario and Superior Court of Justice, where you will assist in coordinating and scheduling cases in criminal, family, civil and other courts.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Trial Coordinator in maintaining court lists utilizing established scheduling practices.
  • Processing documents and orders; liaising with Trial Coordinators, judiciary, counsel, other staff, and the public regarding the scheduling of matters.
  • Identifying and bringing issues that may affect the schedule to the attention of the Trial Coordinator(s).
  • Assisting in the preparation of statistical information.
What you bring to the team Technical skills
  • You have knowledge of the functions and rules of the Ontario and Superior Courts of Justice, relevant legislation and legal terminology.
Analytical and problem solving skills
  • You have judgement and problem solving skills.
  • You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You possess analytical skills to assist with the compilation of statistical data.
Communication and organizational skills
  • Organizational, coordination and planning skills to assist with the scheduling of court sittings.
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with tact and diplomacy with judges, staff, counsel and the public.
Computer skills
  • You are proficient with computer applications (word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, email, Internet and management information systems).
