Position: Client Specialist (Term)

Client Specialists at BBD provide service and support for internal and external clients. They work in a dynamic environment and as a team to process transactions related to the full cycle group benefits administration. This Customer Success role provides value to our clients through daily customer service, leveraging technology, communication skills, and responsiveness to maintain a block of BBD’s clients. This is a fixed term position ending on November 30, 2027.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Achievement of Customer Success Outcomes
  • Process all transactions related to the full cycle of group benefit administration
  • Anticipate, recommend solutions and make decisions based on the needs of the client
  • Accountable for prompt response (24-48 hours)
  • Responsible for complete and accurate documentation of plan member changes
  • Strive for continuous improvement of all processes
  • Adapt and support changing needs of Customer Success team
  • Accountable for understanding all of BBD’s internal and client facing technology
  • Support and promote the use of BBD’s technologies for all clients
  • Answer phone calls and emails from customers to respond to inquiries
  • Research, investigate and provide client focused solutions
  • Build and sustain relationships
  • Accountable for the Plan administrator relationship
  • Accountable for building and maintaining internal and external relationships
  • Understanding of the client cycle
  • Work cohesively and collaboratively with the team and all BBD Departments
  • Adapt to changing needs of clients, both internal and external
  • Passion for Customer Service
  • Provide a friendly and professional approach in all forms of communication
  • Manage confidential information
  • Manage conflicts in an efficient and professional manner
  • Demonstrate BBD’s Values by consistently meeting or exceeding client expectations
  • Strive to meet or exceed Customer Success business goals
Qualifications
  • One- to two-years of related work experience (industry/professional office setting), experience in a sales-related function is an asset
  • Diploma in business or prior education including post-secondary math courses is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of insurance industry, insurance products, business rules and applicable provincial and federal legislation requirements
  • Fundamentals in Group Benefits Certificate, an asset
  • Knowledge of BBD insurance products, an asset
  • Knowledge of current insurance marketplace, an asset
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and in group setting and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Capable of performing well in a deadline-driven environment with cyclical work and frequent interruptions
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office:
    Word, Excel, and databases
  • Positive attitude, strong team player and customer focused
